Creating a Metamask Wallet
This guide is helpful for anybody who needs to create an Ethereum/Polygon (MATIC) wallet to receive and store their NFTs.
This guide is also helpful for anybody who has received an NFT by e-mail and is interested in "redeeming" or "collecting" their NFT.
Metamask is a popular "crypto wallet" that allows users to send/receive cryptocurrency and NFTs.
If you need help creating a Metamask Wallet and generating an address, we recommend following the official Metamask guide to install Metamask as a browser extension or a mobile app.
When creating a Metamask wallet, please keep your private key and seed phrase that is generated safe and secure. This is like a bank password - if anybody has access to this, they can access your NFTs and transfer to another wallet.
You can also install MetaMask on a mobile phone and sync this with the browser extension you just installed.
Once you've installed MetaMask on your phone, you can sync your MetaMask extension wallet with mobile by using the MetaMask Mobile Sync feature.
- Install MetaMask mobile at MetaMask.io.
- Open the MetaMask mobile app and select ‘Sync or Import’ > ‘Scan QR code’.
- Log into your MetaMask extension
- Click Settings > Advanced > Sync with Mobile. You’ll see a QR code.
- Scan this QR code with your MetaMask mobile app (see step #2).
Since NFTs created with Enefits use Polygon Matic, you will need to add the Polygon Network to MetaMask in order to view NFTs that your wallet owns.
